Sometimes being a mum seems like the hardest job in the world. And a thankless one at that!
The days are long. Heck, sometimes the minutes are long! No-one sees the time you spend preparing food, only for it to be discarded; the time it takes to clean and tidy your home, for it all to be turned upside down as soon as nap time is over. No-one sees the dirty nappies you change, the amount of washing and dishwashing you do, the energy spent nurturing, soothing, cuddling, watching out for, playing, consoling, bathing, feeding, and all the other various and never-ending tasks that go along with loving your children. And you do it every day because you care. Because you love your little humans.
And you’re there in the middle of the night too. Because you’re Mum! And that’s what mums do.
We see you mama! We know how much you do and how amazing you are. We hear your struggles and feel your joy.
Mother’s Day is a special time once a year where there’s love and flowers and hopefully breakfast in bed. A sleep in is out of the question, because who are we kidding?!? Such pleasantries are a thing of the past (if you have young kids anyway)! The adoration and love from your family is totally deserved. But we think there’s more to the day.
This Mother’s Day we invite you to take a moment for yourself – to CELEBRATE YOU!
Savour your coffee or a hot shower a little longer. Head out for a walk on your own for a few minutes. Or just stay on the loo as long as hubby does in the mornings! And give yourself a high five, a pat on the back, a big hug.
Recognise your value, your energy, your contribution, your love and service. And really see just how much of an amazing mum you are!
Take this Mother's Day to reflect on how far you’ve come since becoming a mother. It may just be days ago or it may be several years. Take a moment to see how far you’ve come, how much you’ve grown and changed. And celebrate how amazing you are by acknowledging how much you give of yourself to your children and your family. How selfless, reliable, consistent and resilient you are. Celebrate and congratulate yourself. As mum’s we don’t do enough of this.
So on Mother's Day, your day, take it as an opportunity to see yourself in your own magnificence, for all that you are, and all that you do.
